Wow! That's two for the AE's
Atom AE's take 2nd game from Mitchell in their own backyard.
Listowel took to the ice to find that the Michell team came to play. Competition was fierce with coast to coast action in the first. While the teams couldn't find the backs of the nets, the fans couldn't find the backs of their seats. The first period ended with no scoring.
The second however, was a different story. Mitchell wanted the win and proved it with two unanswered goals in the second.
This team practices and plays hard and they all knew that giving up wasn't an option. Inside of 2 minutes into the third Jamieson cracked one in from McGrath which lit a fire that only the final buzzer could extinguish. Mitchell called a time out with 5 minutes left in an effort to calm things down but Listowel would see nothing of it. With numerous chances going unharvested, McGrath unassisted, finally tied things up at the 4 minute mark.
Listowel called it's own time out with 55 seconds left on the clock to quickly strategize for what would be one of the last plays of the match. McGrath, from the faceoff, found Fischer who quickly slid it across to Reid Gooding who with an exceptional backhand, soared it over the goalie to find the net.
The second game went to the Cyclones with a final of 3 - 2.
