Midget AE’s advance to next round after WOAA ruling
Game 3 ended in a 4-4 tie however the WOAA ruled that Mitchell used an illegal player thus giving game 3 to Listowel.

Game 3 in Mitchell saw the Meteors came out flying, as they faced eliminations but it was the Listowel power-play that provided the first goal, as Eric Boisvert buried the loose puck. Mitchell would answer back mid-way through the 1st but with 24 seconds remaining in the 1st , while again on the power-play, Addison Alexander’s shot would put the Cycs up by 1 (assists Martin, Lockie). Early in the 2nd the Cycs power-play would again click as Boisvert redirected a low hard shot past the Mitchell tender (assists Martin, Lockie). The persistent Meteors would not quit as their narrowed the lead late in the 2nd. The 3rd period saw Listowel again take a 2 goal lead, again on the power-play as this time Michael Lockie walked out from behind the net and roofed a shot over the tender. To Mitchell’s credit they did not quit 1st scoring with 5 minutes remaining cutting the lead to 1 then while on a power-play of their own and with the goalie pulled they tied the game. In overtime the Cycs peppered the Mitchell goalie but he stood tall, preserving the 4-4 tie.

During the game it was noticed that Mitchell might have played a player that was suspended the previous game. The next day, using the game sheets it was confirmed they had. The LMHA executive brought this to the WOAA attention simply with the hope that the player would have to serve his suspension the next game, however according to OMHA rules the game was awarded to Listowel, thus advancing the Cycs to the next round versus Saugeen Shores.
