After a couple sub-par games the Cyclones came out firing scoring 4 first period goals then cruising to a 10-0 victory over Elma-Logan
The last few AE games have seen some sporadic play by the local boys, an ugly 4-1 loss to Saugeen followed by a good short-handed effort against Mt Forest (4-4 Tie) then another unfortunate 1-0 loss to Howick. So the return of a few wounded players (Dustin Langer & Chris Daviau) couldn’t come at a better time. The Cycs jumped out of the gate against Elma-Logan scoring early and often. Great puck movement & hard work resulted in 4 first period goals then as expected the team slowed in the 2nd taking a 5-0 led into the 3rd period. A rejuvenated squad again dominated the 3rd tallying 5 more times giving the Cycs the 10-0 victory. Eight different scorers & 11 players hit the gamesheet for the AE’s in what was almost a penalty free game. Langer & Ben Verkley each scored a pair while Scott Boertien, Anthony Quipp, Drew Hicks, Jason Hollinger, Cory George & Justin Bauman also bulged the twine. Earning assists where Hollinger (2), George (2), Quipp (2), Langer, Boertien, Bauman, Matt Wilken, Chris Daviau & Jordan Rumph
Team Notes; This was the first game since the Collingwood tourney where we where able to field 3 full lines from the original roster. The teams next 2 games (vs Ripley & Mitchell) will be good test as they start to prepare for the playoffs which are less than a month away
