Novice LL White Win One - Lose One in Harriston Tourney
Both Novice LL teams entered the Minto Tournament in Harriston on January 10th.  The White team faced the Mount Forest Rams at 10am.  Our team started the game off slowly and the Rams opened the scoring just over 3 minutes into the game.  That seemed to wake up the Cyclones and they answered 45 seconds later with a goal from Nathan assisted by a nice pass from Jake.  The play went back and forth until Nathan scored an unassissted goal with one minute left in the second period.  Jacob scored 3 minutes into the 3rd period with assists going to nathan and Jonathan putting the Cyclones up 3-1.  This seemed to relax the team too much and the Rams scored with just over 4 minutes left in the game.  The cyclones were on their heels for the rest of the game but the defence core of Ayden, Chloe, Jacob and Emma kept the puck away from the front of the net and Seth sealed the door in net to give us a win, 3-2.

This put the Novice Whites's on the 'A' side of the one day tournament.  Their next opponent was BCH # 2.  BCH openend the scoring 90 seconds into the game on a goal mouth scramble that Seth seemed to have covered.  The cyclones battled back and tied the game 30 seconds later with a goal from Nathan assissted by Jacob.  BCH scored once more in the first to make it 2-1.  Our team seemed to be frustrated by the BCH goalie who turned away many opportunities and we hit the post and crossbar a few times.  We took some undisciplined penalties that allowed BCH to run the final score up to 7-1.  The long wait between games seemed to take the starch out of us.  The Novice White are looking forward to a better show in their next tournament in February.
