Midget Reps Prepare for Regular Season
The Midget Rep roster has been finalized and the pre-season games are over. The boys used their speed and hard work ethic to their advantage throughout the pre-season and finished with a very impressive record of four wins, one tie and one loss.
The young team is now looking forward to starting the regular season as the Mitchell Meteors come to town on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
The preseason games went as follows:
Game 1 vs Mt. Forest Rams – 4 – 1 win, goal scorers were Matt McCracken, Connor Johnson, Justin Miller and Scott Boertien, assists went to Travis Bender (2), Jordan Linstead, Conner Dewar and Ben Verkley (2)
Game 2 vs Seaforth – 3 – 3 tie – goal scorers were Ryan Goetz, Matt Wilkans (2), assists went to Wilkans, Verkley (2), and Goetz
Game 3 vs Centre Wellington – 4 – 0 win, goal scorers were Bender, Luke Binning, Verkley and Johnson, assists went to Cody Matheson, Johnson, Goetz, Miller and Bender
Game 4 vs Seaforth – 4 – 3 win, goal scorers were Cory Wilson (2), Dewar and Goetz, assists went to Linstead (2), Binning (2), Wilkans (2), Boertien, and Clark Askin
Game 5 vs Twin Center – 4 – 2 win, goal scorers were Matheson, Dewar (2) and Linstead, assists went to Linstead, Bender, Boertien, Wilkans (2) and Matheson
Game 6 vs Milverton – 4 – 1 loss, goal scored by Linstead, assists to McCracken and Johnson
Goaltending duties were split between Ben Nelson and Jesse Nethercott for all games.
The coaching staff is lead by Josh Beirnes, assistant coach is Ryan Rozendal and the trainer is Dave Dickie.
