The Bantam Cycs finish the regular season with a 6-2 win over Mildmay and now get set for the playoffs
The Cycs capped off a successful regular season with a 6-2 victory over a hard working Mildmay team. The visitors opened the scoring early in the 1st period but that seemed to serve as a wake-up call for the local lads as they responded with 6 goals of their own before Mildmay managed 1 more late in the game. One of the Cycs strengths all year has been balance and this was again evident as 10 different players hit the score sheet. Tyler Hak and Nate Dietz led the way with 3 points each, while Broedy Karelse, Keaton Willis, Brendan Hall and Andrew Gooding each had 2 points. Graeden Gieger, Blake Buchanan, Michael McMurren and Drew McKee rounded out the scoring… Tyler Robinson picked up the victory in net.
The Cycs now have an exhibition game against Saugeen Shores on Wednesday night then it’s on to the playoffs as the first round pits Listowel against Goderich. This should be good series as the teams split the regular season games. Game 1 is slated for Tuesday Jan. 18th in Listowel at 8:00.
