Bantam Cycs eliminate Sailors in Impressive Fashion
The Bantams saved their best performance for game 4 versus Goderich as they struck quickly and often eliminating the Sailors with a 9-2 victory

Game 4 of the best of 5 series saw the Cycs back on home ice and it must have inspired them as they played their best game of the series. The local lads came out firing on all cylinders and smothered Goderich resulting in 5 1st period goals. The balanced attack saw 6 different players hit the game sheet in the period Broedy Karlse (goal & 2assists), Caleb Warren (3 assists), Michael McMurren (2 goals), Keaton Willis (goal & assist), Tyler Hak (goal), Nate Dietz (assist). The 2nd period saw more of the same with the hometown boys using their speed & puck movement to frustrate the Sailors. Andrew Gooding would be the only Cycs to bulge the twine in the 2nd with Hak & Blake Buchanan picking up the assists. However if not for a couple posts and some nice saves the score could have been much worse.  To Goderich’s credit, despite being down 6-0 heading into the 3rd, they didn’t quit but on this day the Cycs would be too much as the game finish with a 9-2 Listowel victory. In the 3rd Willis would complete the hat trick and Karelse would tally his 2nd of the game while Dietz, Brendan Hall, Graeden Geiger, Riley Conners, Karlse and Gooding picked up helpers.

Game notes: as impressive as the offense outburst was the defensive play was equally impressive. The defense core of McMurren, Buchanan, Hall, Drew McKee & Cole Flethcher easily had their best game moving the puck & supporting each other, while Steven Gottfried had another solid game in net.

Next up the Bantams will face Kincardine in the WOAA finals.
