Novice LL get two wins this weekend.
THe Novice LL schedule is under way, after taking a loss in their season opener the team bounced back with a pair of strong performances on the weekend.

The team has been working extremely hard during weekday practices. With the addition of Friday night power skating, the players have had a great deal of fun and shown much improvement.

On Thursday November 25th the team travelled to Wallace to play a strong undefeated squad. Listowel came out flying with hard skating and a more aggressive style than their first game. Listowel defence were very strong all game long and the team shutdown Wallace with an 8-2 victory.

On a wintery Saturday November 27th the team travelled to Milverton for an 11:00 tilt with the Drives. Once again the team came to play and use what they have learned over the season. Listowel controlled the entire game but the Drives goalie held them in all game long. Listowel pulled away late in the second recording their second straight victory 5-0.

Goal scorers during the weekend were Chet Hudson, Jacob Drager, Tayttum Bramhill, Maddox Brennan, Dakota Barfoot, Liam Huber and strong AP addition Carter Coombs. Assists and hard work awards to Bret Smith, Nikki Eaton and Patrick Daviau. Strong performances by the defensive pairings of Sara Reading and Colin Williams, Brayden Coombs and Matthew Vesnaver held the opposing teams forwards in check during both games. Goalie Mika Bolognone earned his first two victories of his career with some timely saves.

As a coach it is very rewarding to watch the players improve every time they step on the ice. I'm very proud of the respect the team showed the power skating instructor and fellow players during the first two months.

Keep up the great work!
