Novice LL team rolling in the playoffs.
The Novice LL team entered the playoffs on February 15th following a very strong regular season. The teams that the team would have to play in the playoffs were going to force the team to play very strong as a team to have success moving forward.

Over the past couple weeks we split a pair of games with Wallace a 8-7 win and a 5-0 loss. Following the Wallace games the kids have began to show very strong team play.

Being more confident carrying the puck, making great passes to players ahead on the play, d to d passes and backchecking hard has made the coaches and parents realize that this team could possible go the distance in the playoffs.

With a young confident goalie Coonor Dinglestad manning the net the team has pulled off three more wins. With victories over Elma Logan 13-1, 3-1 and a very strong victory over a good Walkerton team 9-3 Listowel improved their record to 4-1 in the playoffs.

More importantly the team is having alot of fun and playing the game as a team each and every shift.

Great defensive play by season regulars Sara Reading, Braydon Coombs, Matthew Vesnaver and Colin Williams. These four have lead the way all year and helped show the new defense players Nikki Eaton and Liam Huber (both played forward all year) the system as we move ahead.

The forwards have came alive in the playoffs with unselfish discipline play each and every shift. The passing and playmaking is awesome to watch and has lead to great success. Some additional goal scoring has came from the line of Patrick Daviau, Dakota Barfoot and Maddox Brennan. These three work very hard every shift and this paying off as the seem to push the rest of the team to work hard also.

Forwards Jake Drager, Tayttum Bramhill and Mika Bolognone have lead the way with great passing, lots of shots and puck control in the offensive zone. The young gun line of Brett Smith, Chet Hudson and Carter Coombs drive the other teams crazy with their aggressive play, all three can carry the puck well and have a number of two on ones each and every game.

With hard work ethic in practice and games along with the "Grass Roots" power skating program this group of players are starting to believe and show how good they really can be.

As a coach of a young team the hardest thing to teach is aggressive play and backchecking.
The coaches are very proud of the team. Great work team!!!!

Up next for the team is a very tough Mt. Forest squad (38-0 on the season). If the team remembers the team concept we could hand this team their first loss of the season.
