Novices Come Up Short at SilverStick
Heading into the Holiday break the Cyclones had 2 league and one exhibition game.  The team played a great game vs Goderich and came out with a 6-3 victory.  Carter Coombs led the way with 4 goals and an assist while Owen and Harrison added 3 assists each.  other point getters were Caleb and Camden with goals and Ty, Jay, Brooke and Logan adding one assist each.

Next up was a game with the Blyth/Brussels team that we had not played since the first league game of the season.  The team did not come ready to skate for this game and it showed as we came out with a 5-2 loss.  Drew and Ty had the goals with Coombsy and Brayden getting assists.

The team then had an exhibition game vs Mount Forest right before Christmas to keep the kids sharp before heading to Silverstick.  Another solid game resulted in a 4-3 victory. Carter Coombs had all 4 gaols with assists going to Harrison (3), Carter Coates, Brayden and Ben.

The team then entered Silverstick knowing they would be in some tough matchups.  First up was a date with Mitchell.  The team must have had a little too much turkey as they were sluggish from the start and were behind by 4 before getting on the board.  The 3rd period saw a little life from the kids but the final result was a 7-3 loss.  Carter Coates had 2 goals, Coombsy with a goal and an assist, Ty, Camden and Owen rounded out the scoring with an assist each.

Game 2 was a must win against a strong Kincardine team.  The team came ready to play in this one and managed to control the top Kincardine players and come out with a 6-4 win.  Ben Nauta lead the way with a hattrick and 2 assists while Coombsy came thought with 2 goals and 4 assists as well.  Camden had the other goal, while Owen, Harrison, Brayden and Caleb each had an assist.

Game #3 was against Tavistock and the team took a 2-0 lead heading to the 3rd on a pair of unassisted goals from Coombsy.  Tavistock did not give up and managed to tie the game in the third and that was the way this one ended up.  This meant we had to wait until the last game was over to see if we advanced to the Semi's.  Luckily for us we did get through but it meant a matchup with the BCH Ice Dogs in the semi.

The team held strong for he most part of the game and were down 3-1 when they thought they had scored to close the gap but the refs did not see the puck go in and out quickly although the rest of the arena seemed to see it.  The team gave up a few quick gaols and the final score was a 7-1 loss.

The team has a few practices and then head to Lucknow for a tournament there.
