Boom -Box Malfunction Does not Hinder AE Team
Torential rain and gale force winds welcomed the eager Atom AE team to Zurich

Coach Josh kept the mood in the dressing room light after completing several coin tosses to see which player would wear what numbers.  Colin apologizes for his boom-box malfunction, promising to have his Dad remedy the issue before the next game.
The Zurich arena is fairly easy to locate, as local favourite stores can be seen from the arena parking lot.  Inside, championship banners blanketed the rafters indicating the Cyclones would have quite a test for their season opener.
Standing tall and filling the net with his massive frame stood Lucas, ready to take on all that dare fire a puck at the net....Forwards John, Nikolas and Kristopher fought ferociously for the puck between the blue lines during the first half of period 1.  Bret, Owen and Seth relentlessly kept pushing the puck into Zurich's end.  With the forwards pressing Zurich into a state of frenzy, it was Jordan who gave the team our first and second goals of the year.
Period 2 was scoreless thanks to the hard work of the back end team of Emma and Brayden.  Period 3 saw the game open up a bit with Zurich trying everything they could to get more shots on Lucas.  Colin and Cole held their ground and spoiled many of Zurich's scoring chances.  Owen, Mika and Maddox continued to dump the puck in and finally, Connor found a loose puck 7 feet in front of the net and made no mistake burying it into the mesh for his first goal.
At the final buzzer Lucas set the bar high by achieving his first shut out, backstopping his team to a 3-0 win on foreign ice.  Coaches Josh, Adison & Brady have a terrific group of kids and have them pointed in the right direction.
Good luck this year Atom AE
