Cyclones Take The Wind Out of Sailors
The Midget Rep's looked impressive in their season home opener, with a 7-2 victory over the Goderich Sailors this past Sunday night.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead, with goals from Drew McKee, assisted by Connor Johnson & Andy Gooding, and Jacob Askins, assisted by McKee & Brendan Hall.

Early in the second period, the Cyclones scored twice more. After some hard work by Kyle Sippel & Mike McMurran to keep the puck in and control the play, Alex Balthes potted a goal mouth marker. This was followed by a goal from Johnson, assisted by McKee & Blake Buchanan. After Goderich managed to get on the board with a goal, the Cycs finished out the period with two more, to build a 6-1 lead.

Joel Hartung took a pass from Justin Miller, and potted off a hard/well place shot, coming down the right wing. Riley Conners picked up the other assist, after breaking up the play on a Goderich rush. The sixth goal came off the stick of Tyler Hak as he break for the net, and was fed perfectly with a pass from Cory Wilson.

Goderich grabbed their second goal early in the third period, as a result of some bad ice conditions, which created goal mouth scramble. Hak finished out the scoring with a nice wrap around, to get his second of the night.

Steven Gottfried play well in net for the Cyclones, making many key saves early in the game. Drew Anger backed up this game, as he and Steven will share the goaltending duties this year.

It was noted by many fans/parents, they were pleased to see the improved puck movement and team play, that the Cyclones are starting to display. Of course, a key aspect in moving toward a successful season.

The Midget Reps are in Harriston on Wed, October 17th @ 9:15pm, then return home for a game against Mitchell on Sat, October 20th @ 7:00pm.
