Reps Earn a Tie & a Win
The Midget Reps earned a hard fought 2-2 tie in Harriston on October 17th, coming back from a 2-0 deficit. The Minto squad hit the Cyclones early and often, causing confusion which lead to slopping play, which lead to a 2-0 lead with only three minutes off the clock.
However, the Reps managed to adjust and figure out the Mad Dog's style of play, which resulted in being able to chip away and make it a 2-1 game before the end of the 2nd period. The Cyclones controlled the play in third period, but were only able to get one past a strong Minto goalie, to make it a 2-2 game.
Drew Anger also played extremely well in the Cyclone net, keeping his team in the game, especially in the early going.
On October 20th the Reps hosted Mitchell for a Saturday night game. All three of the Cyclone lines were working hard and playing well, and the defence played a strong & discipline game, which turned out to be more than what the Meteors could handle, as the Cyclones skated to a 7-0 victory. Connor Johnson lead the way with a hat trick, while Joel Hartung two of his own. Steven Gottfried earned the shutout.
The Midgets are in Southampton on Wed, Oct 24th, and then head to Tillsonburg for a Oct 27/28th tournament.
