My name is Lisa Zyta and I have the pleasure of being the news reporter for the Listowel Cyclones PeeWee Rep team. Our coaches have a wonderful, talented group of boys that are coming together to learn more skills, enjoy the game of hockey and hopefully have some fun too. They have a busy week ahead, but here is an update from our last two match ups.
On Sunday Oct.27th BCH arrived to face off with the Cyclones, for the first time this season. There was a lot of action and many opportunities to score. Two goals were awarded to Jordan D and Jake Z and singles to Keegan L and Riley K. Cody H was outstanding in net allowing BCH one goal. Penalties were assessed to each team throughout the game. The next match-up between the two, takes place Nov. 30th in Hensall.
Sunday Nov.3rd brought the Walkerton Capitals to town. Fans had the pleasure of watching both teams go back and forth and then in the last 5 minutes of the first period Keegan L and Blair J scored. The second period brought quite a few penalties for both teams but more to the Cyclones, with 3 in the box at once. Hard work kept Walkerton scoreless. Blair J scored a shorthanded goal and added another for a beautiful hat trick. The third period ended up with neither team scoring, quite a few penalties shared by both teams and Travis B having a spectacular game. Previous result with Walkerton ended in a 2-2 tie back on Oct. 16th
Our next game is Tuesday(5th) and the boys travel to Palmerston to take on the Mad Dogs. On the weekend (Nov.8 ,9 & 10) they travel down the road to Mitchell for 2 games Friday and a game Saturday in Monkton, for the Mitchell Pee Wee tournament.
