5 and 1 Start For the Reps
The Listowel Midget Reps are off to a 5-1 start in league play. In the season/home opener, the Cyclones controlled the play throughout the game, managing a 6-0 victory.

Game 2 in Mount Forest proved to be a tougher contest, against a competitive Ram squad. The Reps battled hard and went home with a 4-2 victory.

In Brussels the Reps came up against an aggressive Blyth-Brussels team, that like to finish their checks, plus go after some that weren’t near the play. Each team traded scoring changes, with each goalie coming up with some big saves. In the end, the Cyclones were the more discipline team and eked out a 2-1 win.

Game 4 was back at home versus Goderich. The Sailors came out strong and created many turnovers by using a well played trap. Again the Rep’s Steven Gottfried stood tall in net, allowing his team to come out with a 2-1 victory.

Next up was a trip to Southampton to play the Saugeen Shores Storm. There was no score after the 10 minute first period. Getting on the board early in the second, Cyclones failed to hold onto a 3-1 lead, giving up 3 shorthanded goals late in the 2nd period. Even with a strong third period (which only lasted 9 minutes & 35 seconds) that saw the Cyclones dominate, there would be no more scoring, and the season’s first loss was realized.

Game 6 saw the return match with the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders, with the home town Cyclones coming away with a 5-2 win. The Reps jumped out to an early lead and continued to build on it, scoring five times by the mid way point of the 2nd period.

Next action is on Wed, Oct 30th @ 8:30pm versus Saugeen Shores at Listowel.

Follow this, the Reps are in Simcoe for a Nov 1-3rd tournament.
