Reps Earn a Pair of Wins in League Play
The Reps started December with a trip to Mildmay, to take on the division leading South Bruce squad (Mildmay-Teeswater combination). The Cycs opened the scoring in the first period, pinning South Bruce in their end for the shift and Tyler Hak finishing it off with a goal.

South Bruce scored an early goal in the second period to tie things up, and then got on the board early in the third to lead 2-1. The Cycs continued to play good tight hockey, creating opportunities to get back on the score board. Mid way through the period the Reps tied things up 2-2, with the defence clearing the zone and moving the puck to Riley Conners. Conners moved the puck to Cole McKee, who gained the offensive zone and then threaded a pass to Hak, who potted his second of the game.
Playing 4 on 4 late in the period, Mike McMurren moved the puck to Drew McKee, who jumped up into the play. McKee gained the zone and passed to Andrew Gooding, who turned the South Bruce defenceman around, and netted a great shot over the goalie’s shoulder.
The Cycs held on from there, with Steven Gottfried shutting the door, to earn the 3-2 win.

On Wed, December 4th, the Mount Forest Rams came to town, and were sent home with a 7-0 loss. Gooding opened the scoring early in the first, with Blake Buchanan and D.McKee drawing assists. Conners answered shortly after with a tap in, on a play with Buchanan and Ben Rothwell. In the second period Bryce Fletcher went to work in the slot, netting a pair of goals. Assists went out to Brendan Hall, Mathew Koch, Riley Thompson and Parker Yungplut. Owen Bender capped off the second period scoring with a power-play marker, assisted by C. McKee and Cole Fletcher, taking a 5-0 lead into the dressing room.
The Cycs continued to dominate the play, adding two more goals. The first goal came off the stick off McMurren, assisted by Reese Johnson and Gooding. The same line rounded out the scoring with Gooding scoring, from Johnson and McMurren.
The Cycs played a well rounded game, with all 15 players contributing in the trenches and on the game sheet. Gottfried recorded his 5th shutout on the season.

Next action is a tournament in Parry Sound, December 6-8th.
This is followed by a couple home games: Dec 15 vs. BCH and Dec 22nd vs. South Bruce, both 8:15 pm start times.
