For the parents of the Peewee Rep team, one of the things that we forgot was to pick someone as a reporter for the team.  If any of you are interested in doing this for the season, please let me know.

The first 5 minutes Brussels-Blyth came out with the intensity that would rival category 5 earthquakes.  Josh faced 3 quality shots before Listowel got back on their feet and started to test the opposing goalie.  With 1:55 left in the 1st, Brussels-Blyth opened the scoring with a backhand in front of the net that Josh narrowly missed with his glove.  Seconds later, with Listowel on the power-play, and a face-off in the Crusader’s end, Sam fed Dilly at the point and his slap shot found the top left corner to even things up at 1 a piece.  Shots were 5-4 Listowel.

At 9:25 in the 2nd, Brussels-Blyth regained the lead, and then with 5 minutes left, buried another to make the score 3-1.  With the lead, the Crusaders also found themselves with a 2-men deficit witch enabled Listowel to attack with a barrage of shots.  Listowel was not able to narrow the scoring gap, but showed great tenacity to finish the 2nd period strong.

Listowel had a 1:58 power play to start the 3rd, but again were shut down.  Then at the 10-minute mark, Sam found Carter out front to bring them within 1 goal.  Brussels-Blyth kept the pressure on to take a 4-2 lead late into the 3rd period.  The Cyclones, not backing down, and just 15 seconds later, Ethan tightens the Crusaders lead at 4-3.  Not to rely on just a 1-goal lead, the Crusaders put the final exclamation point on a hard-fought game to come out with a 5-3 win.

That ends a 12-game win streak for the Cyclones, but you can be assured Listowel will be looking with great anticipation to start another run at Regional Silver Stick.
