Busy weekend for Midget LL
Three away games and two home games this weekend will make a busy weekend for our Midget LL team.
Thursday night in Wingham proved to be an awesome night for our guys with a 3-0 win. With the first game of a 5 day stretch of hockey under their belts, it was great to start off with a win. Friday night in Mt. Forest was a hard fought game. The boys spotted them a 3-0 lead, but were able to fight back and make a game of it by scoring 2 goals in the third period. Eventually the game came up short but a great effort was shown by all the guys. Tonights game (Sat.) had Wiarton visiting our Listowel arena. The game started out strong, and the guys controlled most of the play, but because of an unlucky bounce of the puck, the guys found themselves down by a goal going into the third period. With rally caps ready and a positive talk, our coaches sent the guys out for the third period. A couple good plays later, and we tied the game 1-1. After hard played offense and defense, the puck found its way in with a hard fired shot. Unfortunately, time ran out on our guys in the third period, and we lost 3-1....
Even with a rough couple of games in the middle of our long weekend of hockey behind us, the coaches are optimistic about the home and home series with Lucknow to complete our marathon of games. Dig in and dig hard guys and never give up...... We all see the determined efforts given by each and every player and want to see the last two games have everyone still giving their 110%.....
