Listowel Novice LL Black completed a weekend sweep with a
7-3 win over the Minto Mad Dogs on Sunday.
Blake McTavish gave Listowel the early lead on a snipe just 84 seconds in with an assist going to Zack Brooks.
The one-goal lead lasted only a minute into the middle frame though as Minto scored on the first shift.
However, Black answered back with a pair of goals just 26 seconds apart. Both tallies went to Cole Parsons as he eventually went on to score a handful of times on the afternoon.
Minto fought back with a couple of goals to make it 4-3 heading into the third but it wasn't enough.
Adding to Parsons final-frame marks, Noah Hiemstra eventually capped the scoring with a goal of his own.
While they didn’t register officially on the scoresheet, forwards Rory Magee, Lucas Kuepfer, Linc Lannin and Fiona Johnson did well to transition the game at both ends of the rink.
Their effort was met by Brynn Berfelz, Oliver Hershey and Warner Hurst who kept their defensive house as clean as possible, with goaltender Koen Martin making the key saves when needed to pick up his second W in as many days.
Listowel will look to make it three in a row this Saturday at 10:30 am in Drayton.
