Black Takes Third Place In Minto Tourney
Listowel Novice LL Black had a slow start to their day but improved with each game en route to a third place finish at Saturday's tournament in Minto.
Black allowed a handful of goals in its opening period to Hanover to kick off the festivities, but then settled down to win the second period and tie the third, culminating in a 5-1 loss to Hanover.
Two hours later, the team continued to pick up momentum against the Drayton Defenders and rolled to a 7-0 win to get themselves inserted into the third-place game.
That final match came against the hometown squad, and Listowel again improved its teamwork. Black got out to an early lead and never looked back, using contributions from their goaltender, each defensive pairing and all forward lines to pick up the win over Minto, this time by a 5-0 final score.
The team then happily took pictures with their B trophy following the match, which was a terrific way to end a great day of hockey!
