Listowel Atom Red went 1-1 during their tournament in Hanover on Saturday.

Listowel won its first game with a convincing 6-1 win over Owen Sound in a morning contest.

Ruby Hillier continued her hot streak as she scored in the second period.  Owen Alexander scored in each of the first two frames.  Fellow center, Noah Hiemstra, managed a tally in each of the three periods to round out the scoring, and used the hat trick to earn Player of the Game.

Each of the remaining wingers also got in on the scoring as Nehemiah Dyck, Kingston Powell, Warner Hurst and Linc Lannin grabbed helpers.

Now on the championship side of the bracket, Red had a much tougher test in the evening as they took on the TCDMHA Rebels.

Goaltender Ryan Reath was tested often, limiting the damage to just two goals as he posted a 1.50 GAA in the tournament and landed Player of the Game.

Helping to thwart the Rebels attack were the defensive tandems of Oliver Hershey, Blake McTavish, Brynlee Binning and Lucas McLeod, who all did well to keep pucks to the outside and turn the tide back the other way when given the opportunity.

Listowel's tournament was ended with the loss but the team will still need to head to Hanover again next Saturday, as they'll try to tame the Falcons in regular season play at 11 am.
