Red Holds Off Hornets For 1-0 Win
Listowel Atom Red edged the Howick Hornets on Saturday for their sixth straight victory.

Listowel netminder Ryan Reath came up with a few big saves late to preserve another win and his third consecutive shutout.

He was helped out largely by an undermanned defensive unit of Oliver Hershey, Blake McTavish and Lucas McLeod. The trio ate up plenty of ice time and refused to be outworked by the opposition.

Red's lone tally came in the second period as Kingston Powell took a feed in the slot from Noah Hiemstra and promptly buried it.

The rest of the Listowel forwards, Warner Hurst, Owen Alexander, Linc Lannin and Ruby Hillier, also had plenty of chances as they all contributed to Red's full 200-foot effort with some solid checking in both ends of the rink.

Listowel's lineup was missing both Brynlee Binning (collisionitis) and Nehemiah Dyck (teacherstrikeotosis).

The club hopes to have them back soon, possibly in time for their date in Durham, a 10 am tilt next Saturday.
