Red Earns Another One-Goal Win
Listowel Atom Red improved to 7-2-1 with a 5-4 win in Drayton on Sunday.

The back-and-forth contest came down to a last-second save from Ryan Reath, who managed to knock a puck out of midair with the tip of his glove to preserve his 7th regular-season win - five of which have been decided by a single goal.

Listowel owned a 2-1 lead after one period, thanks to goals from Blake McTavish and Kingston Powell.
Their line was centered by Owen Alexander, who potted a pair of goals in the second period before completing his hat trick in the third with the game-deciding tally to break a 4-4 tie.

Reds' other forwards, Ruby Hillier, Lucas McLoed and Noah Hiemstra, checked well when their turns on the ice arrived, holding the league's top offense to their second lowest total of the season.

Helping them complete that task was the undermanned defensive unit of Warner Hurst, Oliver Hershey and Brynlee Binning, who ate up plenty of ice time with strength, speed, and tenacity (and a first career penalty).

Missing in action on Sunday were Nehemiah Dyck (wrapping paper strain) and Linc Lannin (Chistmas dinner overload).

The club hopes to have both back in the lineup for their next contest, a 4:15 pm Saturday waltz with the West Grey Warriors at SKMC.
