Red Comes Back For Win Over Warriors
Listowel Atom Red stole a 2-1 win away from the West Grey Warriors on Sunday.

Red staked the Warriors to a 1-0 lead in the first period but bounced right back on the next shift.

With a minute left in the opening frame, Nehemiah Dyck banged home a rebound to tie the contest. Fellow linemates, Ruby Hillier and Noah Hiemstra, each picked up an assist as they pressured West Grey into a turnover.

Red then jumped ahead early in the second as defensemen Blake McTavish and Warner Hurst teamed up to move the puck out of their own end, sending Hiemstra in to finish the transition with a wrister over the Warriors goalie.

The other D-pair of Brynlee Binning and Lucas McLeod kept Listowel's end clean for most of the afternoon, clearing pucks away from netminder Ryan Reath, helping him to pick up his 8th regular-season win.

Red's other offensive line of Kingston Powell, Owen Alexander and Linc Lannin played well in both ends of the rink, including many offensive chances and a big shift to keep the Warriors at bay in the final minute of the game.

Listowel was missing speedy defender Oliver Hershey (opening presents sprain) but hope to have him back in the lineup for the next contest, a Saturday game against Hanover at 4:15 pm at SKMC.
