Red Draws Even In Drayton
Listowel Atom Red played to a 1-1 tie against the Drayton Defenders on Friday night.

Down 1-0 in the middle of the third period, Ruby Hillier knotted the contest as she banged in her own rebound, a tally which was set up on a pretty pass from Owen Alexander and some pressure from winger Blake McTavish.

Goaltender Ryan Reath played perhaps his best game of the season, turning away a strong Defenders attack time and time again - especially with his team shorthanded for the final 87 seconds - to help his club earn a point.

Helping him quell the pressure around the net was his defensive unit of Warner Hurst, Oliver Hershey, Brynlee Binning and Lucas McLeod, who all did well to keep Drayton to the outside and limit them to mostly long-range shots.

Listowel's other forward tandems, Kingston Powell and Logan Card, and Linc Lannin and Nehemiah Dyck, along with center Noah Hiemstra, all picked up their play from period to period, able to match Drayton's effort and generate some of their own chances, including a post in the final minutes.

There's no time for Red to rest however, as the team will take on Mt. Forest on Saturday afternoon with puck-drop set for 4:15 pm at SKMC.
