Red's Season Recap
Listowel Atom Red played close and tough all season long.

Red managed to play in 13 contests which resulted in a one-goal decision or a tie and went 6-2-5 in those games, proving they had what it takes to play responsibly in all aspects of hockey to get the job done.

The club went 9-5-4 overall through the regular season before going 2-3-1 in the playoffs, with five of the six postseason matches decided by two goals or fewer.

Red always showed up when the going got tough, playing some of the best games with several teammates out of the lineup.

In addition, they avenged a tough tournament loss to Hanover a weekend later with a 1-0 victory and they also reached the semi-finals in the Peterborough Liftlock tournament. And to top it all off at the end of the season, Red battled the league's top team - vaunted rivals Listowel White - to a 2-2 tie.

Owen Alexander claimed Most Proficient Player for the 2019-2020 season. The centerman almost never missed practice and was leaned on for offense each game, an effort which led to the team lead in goals.

Noah Hiemstra took Teammate of the Year. The first-year Atom forward led drills in most practices and played as many minutes as anyone on the club, yet was never once found in the penalty box.

The coaching staff is proud of the how all the members of the team came together this year. The total unit was not full of offensive flash-and-dash and are not found at the top of the stats leader boards, but they shared the scoring, shared the puck, shared their responsibilities in both ends of the ice, and allowed the second fewest goals in the division.

Great work by all!

Stay safe, enjoy the summer, and we look forward to seeing you all again next season!
