U9 Reps continue strong play with road win over Wingham
The Listowel Cyclones U9 Rep team continued it's strong play with a full 3 period effort on route to a 6-0 win vs the Wingham Ironmen on Friday night.

The boys came out strong in first period as they cycled the puck in the Wingham end and got numerous scoring chances before Hudson Williams opened up the scoring with an unassisted effort just over a minute in.  With only 1 second in the period remaining Lewis Nichol set up Luke Strickler for a wrap around goal extending the lead to 2-0 at the end of the first.

The second period saw the team keep the puck in the Wingham end but full credit to the Ironmen as they kept the Cycs off the scoreboard by keeping them to the outside and relying on their always solid young goalie to hold the fort.

Between the 2nd and final period, head coach Harrison challenged his players to get the puck to the net and not to be satisfied by just keeping it in their opponents end.  The boys took the challenge to heart as Gray Parkhouse scored 31 seconds into the period followed by a beautiful set up a minute later with Ripken Harrison connecting with Ian Magee on a one timer in the slot to extend the lead to 4-0.  Magee would his pick up a second tally from another nice feed from Harrison and then second later Harrison completed a 3 point night with an unassisted goal of his own with less than a minute to go.

The defense welcomed Seth Cameron back from the IR and the combination of Cameron, Parkhouse, Max Zilliax, Matty Williams and Kaden Neves played a rock solid game on the point not letting the Wingham team get the puck out and pounding the net with multiple shots. Maddox Birk had a great game even though he was held off the score sheet as he won key faceoffs and hounded the puck on the forecheck the entire game opening space up for his line mates.

Goalie Declan McArthur wasn't tested much but gave another rock solid performance between the pipes as he picked up his playoff leading third shutout!!

The team is back in action on Saturday morning when the travel back down highway 86 to face off against the Huron Bruce Blizzard at the Ripley Arena.
