Cyclones Outrun By Rebels
The Listowel U13-AE Cyclones took a 9-1 loss in Keady on Saturday.

While the scoreboard appeared lopsided, the overall play by Listowel was one of its best this season as the difference seemed to be mainly the finishing ability of a few of the TCDMHA skaters.

Even with the nine-spot, Ryan Reath was perhaps Listowel's best player on day as he came up with dozens of tight saves on an even tighter ice surface.

Listowel's lone tally came shorthanded in the third period as Spencer Henhoeffer chipped a puck out of his end and Malcolm Long finished the job with a speed burst and a tidy shot inside the left post.

Long's fellow D-mates of Jacob Hodder, Finn Molenhuis and Ryan Jurgens took a bit to adjust to the small confines of their own end and then skated and passed well in the latter half of the contest.

The Cycs forwards also needed to make some adjustments to the speed and tight checking of the Rebels. Hudson Ireland, Noah Hiemstra, Avery Spencer, Nehemiah Dyck, Owen Alexander and Liam Ough did just that as the match wore on. In fact, Listowel's forecheck and game play in the final 10 minutes was as good or better than what the Rebels offered - an effort that if kept up in future contests will lead to wins.

The Cyclones next chance to get into the win column comes on Wednesday night at SKMC vs. the Bruce Peninsula Northstars.
