Cyclones Downed In Consecutive Contests
The Listowel U13-AE Cyclones were dealt a pair of losses on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first came in Durham as the Cycs were doubled up, 6-3, by the West Grey Warriors.

The opening Listowel tally came on a Malcolm Long rush from the neutral zone, finished off with a top-shelf wrister.

Liam Ough had the next one, tying the game at 2's near the end of the first period.

Noah Hiemstra capped Listowel's scoring in the third period after Ough and fellow linemate, Ryan Jurgens, got the puck to the front for him to scoop up and fire in.

The Wednesday night affair came against a high-powered Ice Dogs, who shut out the Cycs in a dominant fashion.

Goaltenders Austin Frey and Aiden Metzger split duties over the back-to-back games and did their best amid flurries of chances.

Listowel's entire forward collection started slow on Tuesday but managed to show their most fight by the end of Wednesday. Owen Alexander, Nehemiah Dyck and Avery Spencer were held off the scoresheet but had chances in both contests.

Jacob Hodder, Finn Molenhuis and Spencer Henhoeffer couldn't quite connect on passes from their own zone early but much improved their tempo and physical play on Wednesday.

Hudson Ireland was away both nights to install a footprint gas pedal to his go-kart.

Listowel's next challenge comes Sunday at 4:00 pm in Lions Head.
