U9T1 fall to Huskies
The U9T1 team came out on the wrong end of their matchup with a very strong Mid Huron Huskies team on Saturday.

Right from the opening puck drop it was evident that this game was going to be the toughest test yet for the young Cyclones.  Maddox Birk was between the pipes and saw plenty of action early as the Huskies peppered him with shots.  The Cycs battled hard but while focusing on the defensive zone but seemed to forget that they also needed to forecheck and spend time in the Huskies end.  The first half was a decisive win for the road team with only Ian Magee finding the back of the net for the Cycs.  At the half (you'd think we were playing football) the team was asked to push harder on offense while still committing to play in their own end.  The 2nd half was a much better overall effort and saw the Cyclones fight back and salvage at least a win for the half while still trailing overall in the game.  Magee added three more goals in the second half while Brandt Donaldson and Oliver Gutknecht picked up singles.  Miles Good, Hunter Adamson, Alton Sholdice, Sully Meulensteen and Fin Long all battled hard all game mainly playing defense and helping goalie Birk out.  Birk played very well in net especially in the 2nd half as he found his groove.

Tyce Passmore left early in the game with a deep cut on his ankle that would require stitches, good thing we had professional trainer Cory Birk on the bench!  It was also discovered after the game that Adamson had a fracture in his arm, I knew this group was tough but they proved it on the weekend.  We wish both of our teammates a speedy recovery and hope to see you back on the ice as soon as possible!!!

Next up for the U9T1 is a road game vs the Walkerton Capitals on November 20 so lots of time to prepare and get healthy!
