U9T1's "weather the Storm" on the weekend with a hard fought win!
Saturday afternoon saw the Saugeen Shores Storm come to town, the Cycs coming out on top of a back and forth with lots of offense!

The young Cyclones didn't have their best in the first period of this game but still saw themselves tied with the Storm when the buzzer went.  With his team not at their best for most of the opening frame goalie Sully Meulensteen stood tall and kept the game within reach.

They must have been saving their energy for the 2nd period as they came all came out flying to jump out in front early and never look back.  Forwards Birk, Passmore, Magee, Good, Adamson, Sholdice and Gutknecht were very effective on the forecheck, turning over pucks and creating chance after chance on the Storm goalie who was so hard to get anything by all game.  Defensemen Long and Donaldson were rock solid keeping the Storm to the outside and limiting chances while getting some scoring chances of their own from the point.

The Cyclones will face a tough test on Tuesday as they host one of the best teams they've seen all year in the Drayton Defenders  on Tuesday night at Wallace Arena.  If you want to see two real good U9 teams go at be sure to come out as this is sure to be another great tilt between these two squads.
