U9T1 Cycs win 8-3 over Meteors
The Cycs have played with a short bench all year with only 9 skaters and a goalie but on this night in Mitchell the boys would have to dig deep with two regulars on vacation leaving them with 7 skaters.  With Sully away the pipes would be left to Fin Long who would stand strong in relief only allowing 3 past him and taking the Cycs chain for his efforts.

The Cycs would strike early in this one as Tyce Passmore would score assisted by Alton Sholdice.  Maddox Birk would follow it up a few minutes later on a beautiful chip pass by Brandt Donaldson.  The Meteors would close the gap to 1 but Ian Magee would respond unassisted 10 seconds later off the draw.  With 20 seconds left in the opening frame Passmore would find the twine again on a feed from Magee.  At the end of the first the score 4-1 in the Cycs favour.

The 2nd period would see the teams trade chances, first by Magee from Hunter Adamson, then the flip with Magee setting up Adamson.  Score at the end of second was 6-3.  This team doesn't like to do anything the easy way and this would be no different as the short handed group would need to kill off a double minor and then finish the game with only 6 skaters after Oliver Gutnecht was taken into the boards hard from behind and would spend the rest of the game in concussion protocol with Trainer Cory Birk.

After weathering the double minor the Cycs would get back to work in the third with Magee completing the hat trick on a feed from the point by Sholdice.  Passmore would also complete the hat trick with a late goal on another chip pass from Donaldson, this goal ringing off the far post and in.  Of note, Birk and Sholdice would play the final 6 minutes of the game on defence with the team down to 6 skaters.

The boys are off to Ayr next to compete in the U9 International Silver Stick.
