U13 Cyclones sweep weekend series with Storm!!
The U13 Cyclones battled the Saugeen Shores Storm in a home and home series over the weekend and came away with two much needed wins!

Game one on Saturday saw the Cycs host to Storm at SKMC with both teams yet to register a regular season victory.  The Cyclones got on the board first with Jade Campbell burying a shot from the point on a nice set up from his d partner Rory Magee.  The home team started the 2nd quickly as well with Tyse Hayter setting up Coleson Beirnes to take a 2-0 lead.  The Storm surged back cutting the deficit to 2-1 but the Cycs answered quickly with Zack Brooks burying another nice feed from Hayter.  An unfortunate turnover in the offensive zone led to a breakaway for the Storm on which they converted cutting the lead to 3-2 heading to the flood.

The third period saw much of the same with the Cyclones getting lots of offensive zone time and putting lots of quality shots on the Storm net.  Early in the period Decklyn Cressman got on the board set up by Campbell and Emerson Smith.  Less than a minute later Smith found the twine to push the lead to 5-2.  A late goal made it 5-3 Cyclones which would hold up as the final and provide the home team with their first win of the season.

Sunday saw the Cyclones travel to Southampton for the back end of the home and home, the Storm hungry for payback.  Patrick Magee opened the scoring for the road team after Campbell sprung him with a nice feed.  The Cycs kept pouring it on the second period with unassisted goals from Hayter and Smith.  Cole Parsons from Campbell pushed the score to 4-0 before the Storm answered back to break the goose egg.  Smith would score his 2nd off the day from Grayson Matheson to give the Cycs a convincing 5-1 victory and a sweep of the weekend games.

Hunter Donegan was solid between the pipes in both games having to stay sharp without seeing much action.

The U13's are back it Tuesday as they travel to Clinton to play the newly amalgamated Mid Huron Huskies.
