Slow start costs U13 Cycs
The U13 Cyclones faced off against the Ajax Pickering Raiders in the final game of the round robin in the Dan Bell Memorial Tournament.

The Cycs came out of the gates slowly in this one and found themselves down 2-0 after the first period.  It wasn't until late in the 2nd period when Coleson Beirnes found Patrick Magee alone in front that the Cyclones got on the board cutting the deficit to 2-1.  It didn't take long for the Raiders to get back on the board to make it 3-1 and they would score again minutes later on a power play.  With the score 4-1, the Cycs would finally get a power play and they would make the Raiders pay as Jade Campbell powered a shot in from the point assisted by Cole Parsons and C Beirnes.  The teams would go to the third with the score sitting at 4-2.

The boys from Listowel were determined to get back in this one and scored less than three minutes in to the final frame when P Magee found the always dangerous Emerson Smith in the slot where he buried a wrister and cut the lead to 1 one goal.  With a minute left the Cyclones appeared to have scored the tying goal (based on the reaction from our young fans behind the net) but the officials were unable to see the puck hit the back of the net and the goal didn't count.  With the goalie pulled and six attackers on the ice the Cycs pushed hard and had numerous good chances to score but ultimately couldn't get the equalizer and fell 4-3.

At the end of the round robin the U13 Reps find themselves in 2nd spot and facing off against the host South Muskoka Bears at 11:30 on Sunday morning at the Bracebridge Memorial Arena (a great old barn by the way).
