Back to Back Weekend Wins!
Submitted By Brad Cross on Sunday, January 04, 2009
Listowel Novice Reps are undefeated in 2009!

A new team emerged this past weekend.  A team with drive, enthusiasm and strong work ethics has arrived and has been rewarded with two hard fought well deserved wins.
In only the first regular season game against the Mitchel Meteors, Listowel Reps showed them how far they have came since the first exhibition game in Monkton.  Listowel pressured hard and scored first.  The first goal in the second is awarded to strong teamwork as all on the ice had contributed.  The second goal was scored in the third and once again equal effort was given by all involved.  Goaltending remained strong and the defence helped the young netminder to his first shutout of the year.
On Sunday was Listowel's third meeting with the Goderich Sailors.  Goderich scored first yet the Listowel team was relentless again and again giving Goderich everything they had.  Hard work paid off once again in the second as the next goal was to be Listowels.  Without concern for wellbeing a nifty move by a linemate had given a break to a Listowel forward leaving the game tied at one going into the third.  Later in the third Goderich couldn't handle the onslaught of Listowel players which didn't let up until they were rewarded with another goal to take the lead 2-1.  That is how the game ended and how 2009 starts for the Listowel Novice Cycs.
Look out next weekend as the Novices take on BCH and Saugeen Shores Saturday and Sunday at home.  They have had a taste of wins and are not content yet!
