Atom Reps begin season with a 2-0 weekend
The atom rep squad travelled to Port Elgin for the fron end of a home and home with Saugeen Shores.
The Listowel team played had a good start to the game taking an early 4-1 lead. Saugeen Shores tightened the score to 4-3 early in the second period but the Listowel team regrouped and put the opposition away with a 7-4 road win.
The second half of the home and home was Sunday afternoon in Listowel. The boys got out to a slow start in the first period but with 3:00 remaining in the period finally settled into the game. Listowel led 2-1 after one.
Listowel started to spread the ice in the second and forced the Saugeen players with good defensive play and some very good passing on the break-out. Listowel dominated the rest of the game and came away with a 5-1 victory.
The coaching staff were pleased with the boys efforts this weekend and the team is starting to use some of the practice drills in game situations.
