Bantams finish season as Cruickshank Finalist
Submitted By Rob Hollinger on Wednesday, March 23, 2011
The Bantam Cycs wound up a great season with a couple of losses to Seaforth in the WOAA Group finals.

The young Cycs advanced to the finals with a 5 and 1 record in group play. The 5 wins where against Saugeen Shores (2), Kincardine (2) and Goderich (1) with their only loss coming against Goderich. In the final series Listowel just didn’t seem to have the jump they had displayed in the OMHA playoffs and the much bigger and more determined Stars took full advantage beating the Cycs 7-2 and 6-3. One of the bright spots in this series was the consistent play of Tyler Hak who actually notched all 5 of the Cycs goals.

As the saying goes "the success of a season can not be measured by 1 or 2 games" and this year’s team had a very successful year winning the “C” Championship in Tillsonburg, capturing the “A” Championship in Elmvale and defended the WOAA Championship before falling in 5 games to Strathroy in the OMHA semi-finals. On top of their on ice accomplishments this group of young men represented LMHA with class and respect. The coaching staff would like to thank what may be the “nicest group of kids every” and their parents for another fun season of hockey. Enjoy the summer and hopefully we’ll see you back at the rink in September.
