Cyclones blow past Stars

The local lads head into Christmas and the Silver Stick on a positive note as they blanked the Seaforth Stars 5-0.

With this game being the teams last tune up before the Silver Stick the bantams were looking to reinforce some good habits which has been the team’s strength thus far in the season. The Cycs came out flying utilizing some great puck movement to create many scoring chances. Just 4 minutes into the game Cole Dannemann would give the hometown Cycs the lead as he tucked home the Drew McKee feed. Minutes later Bryce Fletcher would buried a shot off a faceoff with Keaton Willis assisting. Caleb Warren would round out the 1st period as he converted the Dannemann pass. The 2nd & 3rd periods were much of the same with the Cycs speed and puck movements creating many chances. But credit Seaforth as they battled hard and their goaltending was rock solid throughout the game. Warren would add to the Cycs lead in the dying seconds of the 2nd period as he made no mistake on a break-away (Matthew Koch drawing the assist). Brenden Hall would cap off the scoring in the 3rd as he took advantage of a Seaforth line change going end to end and finishing from a tough angle.

The win caps off a great first half of the season seeing the team remain undefeated, and running their shut-out streak to 3 games. However as the team and coaching staff is well aware what you do in the 1st half of the season means very little in the 2nd half. With a tough Silver Stick tournament ahead of them followed by what is sure to be some very tough playoff series hopefully the team has saved their best efforts for the upcoming schedule.

Merry Christmas from the Bantam Cycs team
