NotesAnother Hat Trick for Cassidy
The first time we met this team it was an 8-0 shut out. We did not assume that it would be the same again, but it was. #16 Liam Cassidy lead the scoring half way through the 1st period, then followed it up with a second, just 6 seconds later. (Liam was #6 but required a larger sweater, and is now wearing #16.) Liam C., again, filled a hat trick at 2 min. remaining in the 1st period.
At 8:21 and 1:53 in the 2nd period, #8 Liam Huber and #7 Mason Neill got the puck past the goalie with help from #11 Bo Buchanan, and #12, Isaac Benny.
Then at 5:00 and 2:55 in the 3rd period, Bo and Isaac got one in for themselves, with the help of Liam Huber. #9 Nick Verbeek scored the final goal of the game, with 1:26 remaining.
All our goals were unanswered by the Brussels team, though their efforts were gallant.
In this game we saw a lot of learning the importance of playing our positions. Our wingers taking their positions by the crease when the puck was on the opposite side of the ice, found themselves with the puck and a shot at the net. Our defense was keeping the puck in the blue line, and moving the puck up the boards on our end.
Great work everyone.
