Cycs vs Huskies
Novice LL lose close battle to Durham.
The Cycs traveled to Durham Saturday morning for a spirited match up vs the Huskies. The Cycs came out with great hustle and pressured the opposing squad from the get go. Listowel got on the board first with a nice effort by the line of Brent Clemmer, Anne Rothwell and Brandon Wall when they dug the puck out and fed it infront to Wall who converted for the goal. The defense crew of Travis Bannerman, Logan Jacklin, Jake Zyta and Dietrich Westberg did an awesome job of keeping the Huskies shots to a minimum and helping clear the puck from infront of goaltender Lucas Matheson who made some stellar saves to keep Durham off the board. The second period provided great action and hard work by forwards Jake Layton, Liam Cassidy, Seth Johnson, Jaydn Judge and center Marlee Ament. They continued to pressure and have many scoring chances. Durham was able to solve our netminder late in the second to tie the game and again late in the third to take the win 2-1. The Best Digger went to Brandon Wall and the Hardest Worker to Dietrich Westberg....great job!
