Novice Reps Pick Up Another Victory
The Novice Reps travelled to Walkerton this past Saturday to play their only game on the weekend.
The Listowel boys dominated the game at both ends of the ice and skated to a 3-0 victory. Connor McGrath opened the scoring in the first period with 1:28 left on a rebound shot. Assists to Riley Kuepfer and Cullen Elg. Kuepfer would score 40 seconds later with assists from Brett "Freshie" Reesor and Sage Buchanan to end the period 2-0. Blair Johnson would add to the lead with a goal late in the second with assists to Kuepfer and Dietrich Westberg.
Travis Bannerman was solid in net when called upon in a quiet game between the pipes. Hats off to the entire team as they played well in the defensive end to help Travis preserve the shutout.
Two more games this upcoming weekend as they face their from rivals Mitchell (Wallace home game) on Friday night before travelling to Port Elgin to face Saugeen Shores.
Listowel sits at the top of the league standings with 10-0-3 record (23pts). Mitchell sits second with a record of 10-3-1 (21pts). Goderich is third with a record of 8-1-0 (16 pts).
