Bantam AE'S Sweep their way into OMHA finals
Submitted By Dragan Paroski on Tuesday, March 12, 2013
The Listowel Bantam AE's completed the sweep of the Huntsville Otters and will now face off with Dorchester for the All Ontario Championship. Game one of the Huntsville series had the Otters coming to town for a 1p.m start last Saturday. Knowing that the Otters would be a bit fatigued from the long bus ride the boys knew coming out strong would make it tough for the Otters and they did just that scoring 15 seconds into the game. As the game continued the Otters started to try and play a more aggressive game and put the Cyc's on their heels for a short period.

But a flurry of goals in the second period gave the locals a convincing lead heading to the 3rd period. Going into the 3rd the goal was to not give <st1:ST1:CITY w:st="on"><st1:ST1:PLACE w:st="on">Huntsville any momentum for game 2 and the Cycs played a well rounded 3rd period coming out with a convincing 8-2 victory.
Game 2 saw the Otters come and play a much different game, the Cycs maybe being a little bit "cocky" after game 1 allowed the Otters to skate with them and found themselves having to battle for the complete 45 minutes and kill off a 4 minute penalty at the end of the game to come out on top with a 4-2 victory.
Game 3 saw the Cyc's head up to <st1:ST1:CITY w:st="on">Huntsville leading the series 2-0 with a chance to finish the series at the <st1:ST1:PLACENAME w:st="on">Summit <st1:ST1:PLACETYPE w:st="on">Center in <st1:ST1:CITY w:st="on"><st1:ST1:PLACE w:st="on">Huntsville. The long drive didn't seem to effect the boys as they would come out flying and again would light the lamp in the first minute. After scoring early the boys kept the pressure on and would add 3 more before the period would end. The second period saw the cyc's continue their dominant play and they would add 2 to take a big lead to the break. In the 3rd the teams would swap goals sending the cyc's back to Listowel with a 7-1 victory and a 3 games to 0 series sweep.
The coaching staff would like to congratulate the boys on a well played series and would also like to say thanks to the Huntsville Otters and their fans for their great sportsmanship and well wishes in the next round.

The AE Cyclones will face off with <st1:ST1:PLACE w:st="on">Dorchester in the OMHA finals, details to follow once schedule is set. Come out and cheer on the boys.
