Meulensteen Tire helps the Grass Roots Program reach new level
Submitted By Dragan Paroski on Sunday, May 10, 2015
Listowel Minor Hockey continues to expand the Grass Roots program by ensuring registration costs do not deter the youngest in our community from getting the opportunity to play this great game.

Since the 2009/2010 season, LMH has partnered with many businesses within our Community (today’s list is noted on the left hand side of this page titled “Sponsors”, click to View all) has provided Free registration (not including required fundraising) to all first year Mites to ensure all who want to try the game are able to with minimal financial risk. Since this time we have expanded the program to also provide a $50 equipment subsidy as well as invested in a formal Skills Development program with a 3rd Party provider. This program and these upgrades to the initial have increased our registration at the Mite level by more than 100% consistently over the past 4 years. Incredible accomplishment which could only have been done with the help of the business leaders noted on our website.

LMH is proud to announce we are expanding this program once again. For the 2015/16 Season all Mites will be offered the free registration opportunity.

ALSO, In the spirit of “No Kid Left Behind,” Meulensteen Tire has provided the *Meulensteen Tire Hockey Helpers Program to do all they can to ensure the financial impact of the game does not deter kids from continuing to play this fun, social, Team sport. Meulensteen Tire and Auto Service and Listowel Minor Hockey have partnered together to provide FREE HOCKEY for all who were born in 2009 and enroll in the LMH Tyke Program.

The Game Plan:

If you were born in 2009 and are playing hockey this year, Parents will pay their Tyke aged Child’s minor hockey registration fee to LMH and receive a credit at MTAS of the same amount (excluding fundraising fees) to be used throughout the hockey season. This program essentially makes your child’s hockey registration free by pre-paying for the mechanical services you may need anyway.

The goal of the Grass Roots Program is to ensure as many of our youth within the community not only try this great game but are given the opportunity to develop their skills consistently during these early stages to continue playing this great game well beyond their minor hockey years.

With the support of our Sponsors, these goals are being realized and on behalf of the Organization Members, we can’t thank them enough. Please review and recognize these supporters who continue to help the youngest in our community experience a game, they otherwise may not have.
