Another successful season for the members of the Listowel Minor Hockey Organization comes to a close.

Can’t close out the year without a quick “shout out” to the Peewee

Reps for their OMHA win going 12-0 during an incredible playoff run.  Congratulations

to that group of young men and their coaching staff!

The strength of the Organization always begins at the youngest levels by creating a stable platform and we continue to look long term through the tireless efforts of the Grass Roots development program. This is not only by exposing more of our community’s youth to this great game through registration gains, but in giving these same young players the skills required to enjoy and play the game long after their minor hockey careers are behind them. This program takes an enormous amount of coordination and volunteerism each and every year.  Thanks to the Directors, Coaches and Parents for working together to make an impact.

Most importantly, thanks to the local business community, who provide the funds to

ensure our Mite division continues to receive free registration and equipment subsidies for all first year players.  Additionally, in 2016 we added a new program: thank you to the Meulensteen Tire Hockey Helpers Program for their registration sponsorship of the entire Tyke Division. Without you and your contributions, kids in our community may not have had the opportunity and the “Thank You” cannot be overstated.  You have made a difference in the youngest within our community.

Please take a moment to review the list of sponsors on our website and remember them when you consider your next purchase.  Local businesses support your local community—take the time to reciprocate.

We work diligently to progress through our registration and skills strategy to grow Listowel Minor Hockey from the base levels while doing all we can to ensure these players move through the Organization year after year.  This initiative has been extremely successful and we cannot stress enough how important these funds are, to not only give the opportunity to try the game, but to gain the skills and confidence to continue to play the game.

Our goal is to grow each and every year and with just over 300 organization members

this past year have made significant gains since the inception of this program just 5 years ago.  In addition to this initiative, we stress that none of this could have been

accomplished without the countless volunteers, referees, coaches, team managers and

board members, The foundation of North Perth is built on the volunteer and without you these young Members would not realize the opportunity to play this great game.

Thanks to the parents and kids for making hockey their choice to become socially and

physically active throughout the 2015-16 winter months.
