Code Of Conduct for All LMH Families
For all players, coaches, and parents; something to think about as we finish this season.

Any sport we participate in will often bring our competitive side to the surface.  When that happens, our judgement can be impaired and we may lose control of our emotions. We may respond in an inappropriate manner.  LMHA would like to remind its players, bench staff and parents that abusive or disrespectful behavior is unacceptable.  Please remember while attending minor hockey events that you represent yourself, your teammates, your Listowel Minor Hockey Association and your community.  It is our hope that other teams we meet throughout the year will be left with a positive opinion of our teams, our organization and our community.

Our actions on and off the ice do not come without consequences. Not only does our negative behaviour affect the individuals it is targeted at, but it also has the potential to have serious implications for the individuals responsible for the behaviour as well. The OHF, OMHA and LMHA all have a "Code of Conduct" that by registering for minor hockey we have agreed to follow.  LMHA’s code of conduct states:

Members of LMHA shall refrain from comments or behaviours which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist. In particular, behaviour which constitutes harassment or abuse will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.”

The OHF and OMHA have similar statements in their code of conducts. It is important to note that inappropriate behaviour can be reported anonymously to the OMHA or OHF which will result in those organizations launching an investigation into the incident.

We have attached a link to the LMHA, OMHA and OHF’s codes of conduct and we request that players, bench staff and parents review it and do their very best to follow them.
