Organization - First Weekend of Play Update
Submitted By Claude Leroux on Sunday, November 15, 2020
I'd like to start off by thanking everyone for getting through our first weekend quite smoothly. Thank you to the Coaches, Refs, Timekeepers, Players Parents and LMHA Directors. It's no small feat to make all this happen in a regular season let alone during a pandemic so again Thank You!!!

I wanted to also take this time to reiterate some of our protocols and add some clarification to ensure we are all making this hockey experience as safe as possible. We have and will continue to perform spot checks at the arena to verify all protocols are being followed.

Health Tracking
We have implemented an application called sportsheadz which above all else enables a fully electronic Health Check application. Having this application immediately helps LMHA easily track, report and audit all teams/parents in a simplistic modern manner. Currently 94% of parents have downloaded the application and signed up for a free account. Thank You!!!! for those of you who haven't it is very simple so please get it done! Go to your mobile phones application store download sportsheadz and create a login for yourself. In the background we have already added your email account and player to the appropriate team.

Here are a few questions answered.
Q. Can my spouse and I use the same email account?
A. No. Each parent/guardian much create an account so we can uniquely identify you.

Q. If I check in for myself can I bring someone with me like one of our other children?
A. No. You can only perform health checks for Yourself and your player.

Q. How much in advance of a game or practice can I perform the health check?
A. Up to 8 hours.

Q. Can I check in on a laptop or tablet if I don't have a smartphone or don't have it around me?
A. Yes. Simply go to https://health.sportsheadz.com/

Arena Attendance
Only one parent/guardian can attend a game or practice home or away. There are no exceptions what so ever to this policy. Failure to follow will be met with the privilege of attending revoked for that individual or family. I don't want to have that conversation with anyone but I will and it will immediately result in action.

Q. Can we take one of our players siblings with us?
A. No, under no circumstances.

Q. Can I take a grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friends best friends buddy?
A. No, under no circumstances.

Q. What if I can't take my child to a game but another guardian (Grand Parent, Aunt, Uncle) can?
A. That individual MUST have the sportsheadz application, must have them connected to that player and must perform a health check in advance of attendance. Only 1 person can attend with a player. You must ask the team manager to connect that person to the player.

Q. Can I bring a drink or feed into the arena with me.
A. No. I love coffee as much as the rest of you but no food or drink can be brought into the arena. Your player is the only one who can bring a water bottle for the game.

Conclusion
I want to thank everyone who is following these guidelines. We know it's difficult not being able to see every game to allow spouses and others to go, but it's for the right reasons. Having hockey allows our players the ability to continue honing their skills, staying physically active and getting to enjoy a little time despite the current global situation. The LMHA Directors and myself are only focused on providing the safest hockey experience for all players and will ensure we are aligned with all provincial/municipal guidelines to make that happen.

Thank You
