After a big 9-0 loss in the season home opener to the ice dogs Listowel came back strong and with a vengeance against them on Saturday afternoon with a 5-5 tie.
Listowel goalie Ryan Reath kept his team going with several amazing saves while the defense had some good battles in front of the net. As this new team worked together to find their groove they had some decent offensive forechecking.
Cyclones Hayden Arnold put up a hat trick, and a goal each for Shaye Matheson and Spencer Henhoeffer.
Listowel worked on killing 2 double minor penalties with Theo Brubacher and Malcolm Long each finding their way into the box.
The boys kept the lead for the entire game but a defensive breakdown in the last minute allowed two goals in from the icedogs with 6 on 5 as the icedogs pulled their goalie to tie it up.
Next Listowel will battle Blyth-Brussels Crusaders at home on Wednesday night!
