Exciting Showdown vs South Bruce Ends in Thrilling Tie
In an action-packed game, the Listowel Cyclones showcased their resilience and determination, battling back to secure a hard-fought 5-5 tie against a very tough South Bruce Blades squad. The match was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams displaying impressive skill and and speed on the ice.

The Cyclones struck first with a nice tuck by Emmett Neves!  However the boys went down 3-1 by the end of the 1st but refused to back down, Caleb Newman brought the Cycs within 1 with a shot from the top of the circle that beat a very strong South Bruce goaltender. A standout performance came from Holden Macewan, who scored two critical goals from his "office"— top of the crease blocker side. Holden's goals were pivotal in the Cyclones' comeback, earning him the Player of the Game award for his remarkable effort.   Oli Gutknecht tied the game late in the third to complete the comeback!

On the defensive end, the Cyclones' blue-liners (Mackinnon Coghlin, Shay Fear, Alton Sholdice, Dylan Metzger) played a crucial role in the team’s success. Their strong positioning and relentless effort kept the opposing offense at bay, allowing Landon Montgomery, the Cyclones' goalie, to shine. Montgomery made several key saves, demonstrating quick reflexes and composure under pressure, which were vital in ensuring the tie.  Dominic Kieswetter and Max Vasquez Schalk were back checking machines every time they hit the ice.

As the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard read 5-5, a testament to both teams’ hard work and determination. Fans left the rink buzzing with excitement, proud of the boys and eagerly anticipating the next thrilling matchup against Saugeen Shores Storm Sunday October 27th in Southampton!
