Ayr Silverstick Recap
The Listowel Cyclones put forth a strong and determined effort at the Silverstick tournament in Ayr, but despite their resilience and hard work, they fell just short in some very close matchups.

Game 1 – Cyclones vs. West Lorne Comets (4-3 Loss)
In their opening game, the Cyclones faced a very talented West Lorne Comet team. It was a back-and-forth affair, with both sides battling hard and keeping things close. Despite the Cyclones' best efforts, they came up just short, losing 4-3. A standout performance came from defenseman Mackinnon Coghlin, who was named Player of the Game for his exceptional defensive play and ability to control the zone. His poise on the blue line helped keep the Cyclones in the game despite the Comets’ offensive pressure.

Game 2 – Cyclones vs. Ayr Flames (6-1 Win)
The boys rebounded in their second game, taking on the hometown Ayr Flames. Listowel came out strong and didn’t look back, dominating the game with a 6-1 victory. Aleks Czubak was named Player of the Game for his all-around performance, contributing offensively while also being solid in his own zone. The Cyclones’ offensive depth and team effort were on full display, as they were able to control the play and showcase their scoring ability. It was a much-needed win after their tough first game, and it boosted the boys' confidence moving forward.

Game 3 – Cyclones vs. South Grey Spartans (2-1 Loss)
In their final round-robin game, the Cyclones faced off against the South Grey Spartans in a nail-biting contest. The game was tight from start to finish, with both teams giving it their all. Despite the Cyclones staying with the Spartans until the final whistle, they fell just short, losing 2-1. The game was a great display of effort and determination, with the Cyclones never backing down and fighting until the end. Unfortunately, the bounces just didn’t go their way, and despite a great showing, they were unable to find the equalizer. Landon Montgomery held his team in the game, standing on his head at times making save after save earning him a very well deserved player of the game honour.
