ROAD WIN!
November 2nd, the Listowel U13 - 1 showed fantastic team work and discipline as they battled through a logistically challenging night on the road; with shortened pre-game speeches, 10-15-15 periods, first intermission flood(???), and dress shoes combined with really slippery ice (who knew).....

First off, an absolutely Stellar performance again by #3 Luke Hurst notching 2 goals on the night with #7 Not so Mad Max (as he informed me he's never mad) Viol setting him up both times along with #2 Oliver Gutknecht getting a secondary on the 2nd Listowel goal of the game.

Not to be outdone, #12 Brendan Bradley scored our first PP goal and eventual game winner, assisted by #16 Sam Bartmann.   A great showing by both these guys, playing a great 200 foot game.

Also, our elder statesmen, #16 Sam Bartmann, and #10 Logan Richardson continue to show great power offensively with multiple, hard point shot attempts and a relentless backchecking tenacity on the defensive side.

Lack of discipline on Draytons side resulting in another Listowel power play and a hard point shot from #17 Kohen Smith ended up sealing the deal and completely ended Draytons chance of a come back late in the second.

This production was definitely assisted by having our grinding wingers #4 Noah Contardi and #11 Austin McIntosh throwing sticks into the spokes of Draytons bike all night long; battling for the puck deep in their end as well as in the neutral zone.

Back in net on the road for the second time this season #1 Landon Montgomery stood tall between the pipes; flashing a hot glove all night long, limiting a strong Drayton offensive core to only 2 goals and shutting down a late charge throughout the 3rd.  Welcome to the Jungle Lando, keep up the good work!

Shout out to #8 Gavin McLaughlin as he popped up from U11 to help us on the back end and did a great job as he navigates being a newer defenseman!  Great work Gavin!

Last night we out "teamed" the other team (thank John Schneider for that term) and skated for a full 3 periods, stayed disciplined and took advantage of a frustrated Drayton squad!  Be proud of the effort these players have shown and lets bring the intensity back home!

U13 - 1's next game is on Tuesday November 4th at home at Steve Kerr.  See you there!

p.s. A special thank you to our snack crew that has been providing some pre-game nutrition to this crew, this has been fantastic and very well received by the boys.  Great work on the Rice Krispy Squares Lyndsay, I may have sampled 1 or 2....!
